Edinburgh duo No Windows is made up of 18 year old multi-instrumentalist Morgan Morris and 19 year old vocalist Verity Slangen. Their latest track, ‘Song 01’, is further explanation of the pair’s musical curiosity, as they take influence from the likes of Elliot Smith, Cocteau Twins and Cloth and turn it into something uniquely theirs. The track drifts effortlessly from ambient to epic, with moments of tender acoustic guitar hitting just as hard as the grand, multi-textured outro. It’s a dense, incredibly produced cut that demonstrates Morris’ production prowess, with tape delay, field recordings and multi-tracked vocals all contributing to a glorious soundscape. Their debut EP, Point Nemo, is out on May 3rd, via Fat Possum Records, with whom they recently signed. -Dan Peeke
